Alex, Great report.
My mom and dad caught 74 on Tuesday.
All were Bluegills except two cats and 2 big 1.5 pound crappie.
All fish were caught on crickets in about 5-6 foot of water in front of the the Big G state
park from a pontoon boat.
The crappie were full of eggs.
Only a few of the female bluegills had eggs in them and none were ready to spawn. These bluegill
were NOT on the bed.
I will have to check my Shellcracker spots this afternoon and see if they are there, as they usually bed prior to the bluegills.
BTW, what was the water temp where you were catching those shellcrackers and also were
you on the north shore of brown's creek where
the water warms up fast ?
I would say it is still early for the bluegills, not too late for the crappie and maybe dead on for the shellcrackers.
