Were gonna try them today--If we catch anything good i'll let ya know. We had good luck earlier at amoco and browns ferry, but it has slowed considerably. Alex (in some earlier posts) and some other folks i have talked to at the shop are catching them upriver toward guntersville on the deep water cuts around the bluffs (such as painted bluff) in about 60ft of water, with the sauger holding in 25-30 on the edges. Ive never tried that part of the river (yet), but im going too soon. As for bait--1/2 oz jigs tipped with minnows or just minnows on a tight line work best for me. Blue or chartruese jigs seem to work better, but im still not convinced that color is all that important.
