A friend fishing a T on upper Guntersville today got readings up to 44 on the main channel. I had 38-39 on Wilson today. I think the extended cold weather has cooled much of the water below the surface as well. It's certainly producing an immense shad kill. We saw thousands today dead or near dead. It will probably stay tough till we get a good warm spell. It don't break my heart seeing a good shad kill. BTW, 10 boats in the tournament today with 20 good local anglers. One 3 pound LM took 1st and big bass. Only one other fish was weighed in for 2nd place.
