Usually they will be bedding the first full moon of May although the last 2 years they have started by the last week of April .Its all dependant on how quick the water warms up.The upper end and shallower spots in the big G will have them bedding and biting better earlier but I'd say the best time to go would be the first and second week of May for a lot of fast action.Id try to find a hard sandy bottom between 2 and 4 feet deep with some weeds around it ,hopefully not too thick to fish in.Look for holes in the weeds if it is.With kids using Crickets usually makes for a fun and easier day of fishing too ,just a suggestion (grin)
