I put yellowtails in my pond 3 years ago. The first winter they didn't make it. They supposedly need about 20 feet of water to make it through a really cold winter. Restocked and the last 2 years they have made it fine. My pond is 3 acres. My bass growth has increased tremendously. The shad may have hurt the bream pop. a little, but I'm mainly interested in growing large bass. The shad will eat catfish food. The shad are reproducing. Get some wild surface action.
