No, a "Jack Salmon" is a sauger. Sauger are referred to as "Jacks" in this area, but are not walleye and are not to be confused with skipjack.
Somewhere it is stated that there is about 1 walleye to every 10 sauger in the Tennessee river and that was probably true many years ago. Now I think the ratio is much smaller concerning walleye, although I am sure there are still some out there.
Sauger is related to a walleye as is a yellow perch. They are all in the same family.
