I would like to take this opportunity to wish all on this board a Happy New Year and hope everyone has a great year to come. I think this is a great board and a great group of people contributing to it. And I thank Kerry for a job well done keeping it that way.
This board reminds me of a few years ago when everyone had a CB radio and was on the airways almost every night. Most of the channels had a close knit bunch of guys (and gals) that was always on the channel, with a few newbys always adding to the conversation. Some of the regulars brings to mind, Kerry G. (of course), Kerry K., Alex, Bonnie C., Ben There, Homer, Jim, Shane, Buffalo-Native, WTL, and Perch Jerker, just to name a few. I'm sure there are more, that I can't remember. Anyway, this board has a feeling about it that no other board has, and that is a nice bunch of guys that just plain like to fish and don't mind helping others out with what they know. And to top it off, there is no advertising. I know I have a tendancy to lay back and "listen" and not have much input, but I really enjoy reading what others have to offer. Keep up the good work and hope to meet some of you on the water, someday.
I just wanted to remind everyone that
this is the time of year when all the newbies arrive with their
unbridled enthusiasm as well as their lack of netiquette.
Let us all remember:
-- how exciting those jokes were to forward to friends.
-- when we didn't know that all CAPS are considered shouting..
-- when we first found that spell-check button.
-- when we realized just how important an "Accurate Subject
Line" really is.
-- when we accidentally sent that dirty joke to the list.
-- when we read that dirty joke on a list.
-- when we couldn't unsubscribe from a list no matter what.
-- when we felt it was our civic duty to forward all virus
warnings as instructed.
-- when we believed all those hoaxes sent to us.
-- when we made our first online discovery.
-- when we felt confident enough to assist someone new.
To all the newby's, welcome to this board and try to keep it clean.
Again, everyone have a Great Year. Tom L.
