Last weekend my father was trolling for stripe in Smith Lake, as soon as he started to catch some fish two nearby fishermen (2 Younger Men) proceeded to drive right next to my father and troll also. Before you know it the other two fishermen go right over my father's line and they catch each other. This results in two huge birdnests and the wasting of almost one hundred yards of fishing line. Not only did the other fishermen succeed in tangling up the lines, but also managed to spook the Striper into not biting.
Please, someone tell me the unwritten rules. I always thought that the fishing spot was left to the person who got there first or who found the fish first.
Also, not to come to close to another fisherman w/out his or her approval.
I understand everyone wants to catch a fish and I can't blame them one bit, but something like that can turn out real ugly. Thank goodness that my father has a very long fuse opposed to a short one (like myself).
PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE!
