Chart.-White-Blue tandem spinnerbait. 4" smoke fat albert grubs & 1/4oz jigheads. Firetiger pattern medium diving crankbaits. Blue/black jig-n-pig. Launch at safety harbor just below Wheeler dam. Try drifting the tailrace.......just follow the other boats-spinning tackle 8lb line or less with the grubs. Fish the rocks across the river, a long rock pile paralells the dam. Try inside and outside of the "blow hole" (area inside the semi circle of rocks). Also several big boulders just outside the north entrance to the blow hole. Another deadly tactic is to drift the tailrace with live shad. You need a cast net and a good baitwell for this. Shad are sometimes caught easily along the concrete wall below the dam, if not they may be in the shallows around the mouth of town creek. If you have no luck below the dam trailer down to Fleet harbor at Wilson Dam. Go upriver a short distance and fish the cuts on the south side with spinners and crankbaits. This is a heavily fished lake with some real monster smallies........bring the camera......keep a big un'.......and release the rest. I hope this will catch you a few. If you need more info just ask. A report would be appreciated. Good luck and God bless.
