Kerry is correct about the Okaloosa Island Pier at Ft walton. It was mildly damaged from Ivan and was back open within a week. The pier at Pensacola took a hit but was designed to release the timber parts in order to save the cement structure and it worked and they have replaced the wood so its opened now and the fishing will be good till the true cold fronts lower the water Temps into the mid to low 60s.Also the east end of the Jetties at east past in Destin have a lot of redfish ,Flounder and Black Snapper waiting to be caught this time of year until the water temp drops as already mentioned, actually the west end of the jetties have a lot of fish but it takes a man or youthful legs HA to walk out that far with all your gear!! Also if you fish the jetties or surf you do have to have a Fl salt liscense unless you are a resident. They sell 3day 7 day and yearly ones with no senior exemption for out of staters!!a sore point with my dad. Anyway its a lot of fun !!! Smoking reels to ya!!
