I finally got smart and did a google search for Juniper Springs Alabama and found an article on the record. I was disappointed that the record came from a commercial trout pond because I remember reading many years ago that the state had experimented with stocking trout in some of the creeks around Mount Cheaha. I was hoping that the stockings were a success and that there were some big trout swimming around those streams. I am pretty sure that Cheaha, Salt, Dry and Hillabee creeks were mentioned, and maybe one or two others that I don't remember. Of course, some day I may drive up there and hike to one of those creeks to try my luck anyway.
