Thanks for the recent responses you have posted giving links and info!

Wheeler, according to the new operating guide, should be starting the draw down, but so far it has been at or near max. summer pool with drops from 1/2 to 1 foot from that level sometime in the evening to midnight and coming back up to max. levels over night.

Releases from Wheeler dam generators has not been as consistent as it has been from Guntersville dam lately. Guntersville dam has averaged approx. 38,000 cfs relatively continuously and Wheeler dam has ranged from zero release to over 100,000 cfs depending on the time of day. This pattern has been in place for at least several days, maybe longer.

I am guessing that we should see a more substantial drop in the lake level on Wheeler soon, given the likelyhood of Frances' effect on rainfall in the southeast area in a few days, but only time will tell.
