This time of year is slow for many if not most. Even with a boat, your chances of keeping your son interested are slim.
I don't know what to tell you except to take a break from fishing until fall when things will be picking up quite a bit.
I have a 12 year old son and I can't keep him interested if the fish aren't really biting fast!
