What's Biting From the Bank on Wheeler

I've been fishing about 5 times from various places on the bank of the Tennessee River near Triana/Greenbrier... (Beaver Dam) I've tried chicken livers for catfish, live worms for anything, plastic worms for bass, H&H's for bass. I've been going late afternoon til evening. Any suggestions on what to fish with and where would be much appreciated. I would really like to have some luck before my son(age 10) looses interest.
