Many of our local land owners have private ponds here in North Alabama that are capable of producing 8 lb. plus bass, most ponds are easy to access, very few trees if any to foul your back cast I would suggest talking with your guest when you arrive about local fish ponds, as call them. Also in the Huntsville area you will find Madison County Public Lake. This lake is stocked well. As a general rule the rivers and lakes are no too suited for wading and fly fishing. You can find an area or two that are well suited, but they are few. A small Canoe, Kayak, or Dinghy would be ideal if you have access to one. The Sipsey River located below Smith Lake Dam in North Central Alabama is the only running stream in Alabama which contain Trout.
