Mark is right, there are some good pads across from Waterfront in those sloughs, and he's right about the fish in them. There are a few more pads just below Mountain Lakes Resort. You may catch a big fish out of those pads, but the better bet is in the deeper grass infront of the pads. (Although some big rat fish have come from those pads...)
Up the river, just below the BB comer bridge are some big pad fields on the main river ledge, (left decending bank or red bouy side, or right side goin up... lol) they do hold some monster bass this time of year, and a jig or big tube or worm will catch them. These are the giant leaf pads, and are good through the fall.
