The pond is 26 acres with a large basin of deep water at one end (approx 20 ft deep) and 2 sloughs with shallow water. The crappie got there when a pond upstream overflowed one year. Last year I hit the crappie pretty good. I caught 43 all about 1/2 - 3/4 lb in a half hour on curly tails. The pond also has channel cats and some huge coppernose bream as well as shellcracker. The only management issue is there is too many small fish right now and as much work as it seems the owner wants me to come back and keep a bunch of fish. As for minnows, I always use toughies there as they work well.
