I went below G-ville Dam this morning with a friend and we did well when we finally caught some bait. They didn't seem to want a sassy shad, but yellowtails were definitely on the menu this morning. We managed to catch 4 big ones weighing 17.5, 18.75, 19.5, and 24 pounds. We had several fish hooked that either broke our line or ripped the hook from their mouths. All were released to be caught another day. The striper bite should be wide open for a while and unfortunately the big drum are also biting during slow flow generation times. The water temperature was 58.5 degrees when we left at around 9:30.
