If you are throwing assassins under a cork, it is very hard NOT to get line twist. If you are throwing the 1.5 inch bass assassins, try putting them on the jig head with the flat/ribbed side up. I have found that this decreases line twist somewhat whether using them under a cork or tightline. It reduces the action of the jig on the fall as it seems to fall straighter instead of twirling as much.
The line I use is Premium Excel from BPS, 6# test.
