I thought I had a problem with a new boat and a mechanic told me that they put thermostats on boats these days. I am not sure about your motor, but it sounds about the same. In cooler months, the thing hardly puts out. The old days of looking for a good strong discharge are over.. at least on the bigger motors. The thermostat stops flow, similar to an automobile, to keep the engine running warm at optimum performance. In the cooler months of the year, I see much less discharge. I guess they did this for the people up north?
