managed to catch 15 crappie this weekend in a local marina between slips. simple pitching with a bass assassin and letting it swing back and sit. using a 1/32oz lead.
couldn't catch a fish without the jig being tipped with a minnow. but when the minnow was on...watch out.
the crappie seem to be in a prespawn mood getting beds ready. the males were very aggressive. also seems that secluded spots with no wind and warmer water are attracting the crappie right now as they prepare their beds. it makes perfect sense as the water temp rises.
i managed a 2lb lady that was full of eggs. so the signs are there.
also managed 3 largemouth bass accidentally! one weighed 3lbs 10oz, the others weighed 2.5lbs each. again...bass assasin tipped with minnows.
i noticed the spring creek night bite must have started as there were 10 vehicles parked there last night.
we let all fish go to complete the spawning cycle.
good luck to all.
when we see fishes...
we go fishin...
