High wind was the rule for most of the day. I caught 5 before the wind just became too much. The water on my part of smith isnt muddy. The water has risen several feet on the lake since the first of the month. I caught all of mine fishing the water on both sides of Blue Water Point. I did best on the Mauldins Camp side which is real close to where I live. I fished the deep drops on the Blue Water side of the slew and caught mine in around 9 ft of water. As it has in the past the water will probably continue to rise a good bit more before they open up and drop it down to the normal levels for this time of year. A friend called and said before the current weather popped in he caught several around the island adjacent to the old Duncan Bridge that is now submerged since the building of the lake. Its just a short piece from the Duncans Marina towards the dam on the left.
