LAKE LEVEL: 558.4
NORMAL LEVEL: 564.0
SURFACE TEMP.: 68.9 am - 72.4 pm
WATER CLARITY: Terrific (May Change with rain but has not yet)
CRAPPIE: I can only speak for what I have been doing. I had 56 keepers
yesterday and 42 on 11-3-00. Lake is still continuing to fall..This may
force more fish to the old river channels and creek edges. We are not
doing much in brush tops yet but as soon as water cools the crappie will
head for them.FINALLY getting some much needed rain to add to the oxygen
levels to water. So far just steady rain, no heavy downpours to muddy the
lake. However, a big cold front is supposed to be heading in for the
weekend. This may put a stop on them for a day or two and then they will
come right back.
BASS: Still seeing a lot of schooling bass chasing shad. Bass fishing
should be good until cold snap but cold snap expected to last. They are
continuing on a shallow water pattern.
CATFISH: ALL you want!!! COME GET EM!! PLEASE and don't put them
STRIPE: Have not been lately but strong reports out of Riverside. Good
catches being caught on old channel edge out in front of marina. Mostly
live shad for bait. For more information on stripe and crappie on the
upper end of lake contact Anita at Riverside at 256-779-6117
Lake is even lower!!!More dangerous as you go outside of the river
channel.Just take it easy.
Cowan Creek & Spring Creek are not accessible due to old road bed
running across the mouth. However, if the water will go down a little
more you can make it out going under the bridge at the Alabama Queen.
As always do not hesitate to give me a "holler" whether you need a guide
or not. Glad to help anyway I can. Have A GREAT DAY!!! Steve
