Kent, I wasn't trying to imply that you were benig dishonest. I have quite a bit of experience catching, measuring and weighing crappie. I stand by my estimates of the possible weight of a 14 inch crappie although where I said it might have made 1.75 pounds was really a stretch.
When it comes to crappie, no they won't all weigh the same for a given length. Also, weights based on length will vary depending on species. A healthy black crappie will nearly always out-weigh a healthy white crappie of equal length. There are variations in weight for any given length, but not to the extremes you are suggesting.
Prove it to yourself and buy a good set of digital scales and start weighing your fish. I think you will be very surprised at the actual weights once you actually weigh them.
