You may want to try putting in at Buelah Bay on the north side of the TN in Limestone County. There is a gravel ramp there that is usually in good shape-easy to get in and out of. This will only be an option at full pool. I don't think the ramp is marked on a map, but it is in the Swan creek mnagement area. You take the road by Thompson Cat. off 31 and I think the ramp is on Dairy road(gravel road). Turn left and go about a mile back. Maybe someone else on the board can give better directions. This is a pretty safe bet if the weather is questionable. You will be fishing the big backwaters east of Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant and West of the Railroad bridge. Some of the best fishing you'll find anywhere for Bass, Crappie, and blueill. Be warned that most of this area is less than 6 ft deep, with some exceptions. A lot of this area was virgin timber when the lake was impounded and is full of stump fields and some millfoil. Idle speed is the key here. The area does get fished a lot, but it is vast- al lot of room for company. Flip the button ball bushes in late April. Please don't keep too many bass. Wheeler had several back to back years of bad spawns and we are just now getting a larger class fish back.
