The latest BFHP report about large sacks was from a Goosepond tournament. It is my belief that most of the large sacks come from mid to upper lake regions. If I had to give a theory, it would be due to the large amount of acres that are flat and relatively shallow and covered with vegetation each summer. Get outside the marked channel upriver and you better watch out. Downriver (below Brown's Creek), there are very few hazards.
It is also convenient that there are facilities available to support large groups of fisherman in these areas. The lower end of G- seems to be better suited for spots, however, does have some good largemouths if you don't need a grass crutch.
