By this time of year, I can usually go out and catch a decent "mess" of good keepers on Wheeler from the bank by trying several locations, but this year I haven't been able to get on them "as usual".
I am still hopeful that things will pick up on Wheeler as the temps get colder, but given this extended warm weather with only intermittent cold snaps, I think I will have to put in more time to get on the fish for those "banner" days! (grin)
The crappie in Guntersville are still going strong! The bridges, all of them from Browns Creek, Spring creek, Short creek, Town Creek, you name one... they are hitting! Best hit is still in the morning, but that doesn't mean you won't catch some later in the day or maybe at night. No reports about the night or late afternoon/evening bite, but my bet is that they are biting well during that time. It might take minnows for some, but jigs should produce for those who are familiar with using them.
Good luck and good fishin'
