Those fish might be 1/2 pound or less as well. Although I think I posted an "educated" guess, it is still just an estimate and definitely a guess. Weigh and measure what you catch to be sure!

In any case, get a good digital scale (around $30 +/-) and a crappie measuring tool for the questionably legal ones (about $7) to be sure you are legal on length and educate your eyes to "real" weights and lengths of the crappie you catch.

I think a lot of folks will find that they have grossly over-estimated their crappie weights and lengths once they "actually" weigh and measure their fish with accurate tools! Of course, we are talking about "fishermen"! LOL (grin)
