I could see a school of maybe 12 to 15 crappie suspended at about 4 to 6 ft(always hardest to catch fish you can see HA) near the big spring creek railroad pilings but no amount of jigging would tempt them .I got desperate and tried float and minnow no results...... then I remembered an old pond trick for bass so on a smaller scale I went to a hook only rig,fly Lining i call it, hooked the smallest minnow i had in the lips and flipped it out , was hard to do with no weight given the distance ,butI managed and when the minnow hit the water near them it would swim downward and when it went thru the school ,Bingo!!! I caught 8 before they figured it out and all were in the 3/4th to 1lb and half range no under 9's.As for the normal jiging for them it has slowed most places except for the honey comb /whitaker lake bridges, I think the low water and warm temps are hurting them right now....anyway good slabs to you all
