You were so helpful with my question about G'ville Stripes; maybe I can help you with your question. I'm no expert, but I've done this a few times and fish with some guys who do it a lot. Here's what works for us: Lauch at McFarland. Go into the old barge canal for bait. Look for it on your depthfinder or dimpling the surface. Sometimes there at the edge of the barges; sometimes you have to go all the way to the back to get them. Drift with a #2 hook and a splitshot about 18 inches above it. You don't have to go all the way to the dam before starting your drift. When you reach the bluffs across from McFarland go back up and start over. Under the RR track bridge is one of the best places. We drift on the Muscle Shoals side. Hope this helps.
