JD -

My Triton does have glossy gray paint, carpet, rod lockers, storage for Plano 3700's, a live well, and all that fancy stuff. It does have a hull that does not look like a John Boat.

Well, mostly it's glossy. I have scratched it up a bit - the scratches reveal aluminum. I have also put a dent or two in it. The paint may get dull and the boat may look beat up, but where a glass boat will start to crack and leak someday this one will only look used.

As far as the weight goes, my last glass boat (Norris Craft) felt lighter and rode rougher than this one. I've never seen a glass boat that lasted more than around 20 years, but I've seen several aluminum boats with more time on them. And I'm not even tempted to wash or wax it. I do keep it in a garage, and I do pick up the garbage in it every so often. I figure that I'll have to replace carpet and upholstery in a few years, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
