Here are some pics of my spider
doing this rear-end-up-in-the-air thing.
I have caught it doing this about
3 times now.
I don't know what this behavior
is or why it is doing this.
The spider was completely unmolested
and alone when I walked in and found it in this position, so I don't think
it is a threat posture or anything (unless maybe it saw it's own reflection
in the glass).
Maybe it does this to keep cool?
Temperature is the only thing I
can think of when I found it in this position (the tank was warmer than
normal).
I don't have a very accurate thermometer
yet but the heat strip (thermometer) on the side of the tank read somewhere
between 86 and 90 degrees.

Sorry the image quality is so poor
I am using a cheap webcam to take the pics.
The following is a link to a page with pictures
of the web enclosure the spider built in the artificial burrow I made for
it.
