Construction at the Miracle Field was completed the week of 30
April 2007 and the Miracle League had the field's Grand Opening
at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 5 May. Photos of the Grand Opening
and photos of major donor banners are shown below.
Funding was completed last fall, as
announced at the 18 September 2006 meeting: "Greg Olmsted
reported that donations and sponsorships lacked $655 of meeting
the $30,000 goal at the beginning of the evening, and then went
over the top with an additional $840. With the club's $30,000
matching the total is now $60,185. Congratulations to Greg and
to everyone who participated. . .." A $10,000 grant from Kiwanis
International took it to over $70,000 and that was not the end
of it. Let's celebrate a job well done. The Miracle Field
is "Field #6" at Braham Springs Park (south of Bob Wallace on
Newby Road). |
