Click somewhere in the top window and enter the ciphertext. You can either type it in, or paste it in from another application.

Once you have entered a ciphergram, tell the Ciphergram Solution Assistant to try to decipher it by clicking on the Solve button.

The "radio" buttons allow you to choose whether a ciphertext letter may map to the same letter in plaintext. (The rules for the common newspaper puzzles do not allow a ciphertext letter to represent itself in plaintext.)

This button re-enters the example ciphergram in the ciphergram and attribution windows.
