How can I get Bob's earlier albums: Lord of the past, Non-fiction, Matters of the heart, and, First Things First?

Bob's music first ministered to me when I was going through the death of a beloved grandmother and the loss of a significant relationship at the same time. The Songs from Bright Avenue CD was instrumental in being used by the Holy Spirit in restoring my sense of value, both to myself and to the Lord. I can't number the times I sang along with Bob and through tears "I'm Still Alive Tonight" and "Here on Bright Avenue." It is a valuable ministry. I am proof. Be encouraged, Bob; you may not fit the mold the Christian Music industry dictates, but you fit the mold of Jesus quite well; the Holy Spirit communicates that through your music. May God establish the work of your hands and give you peace. Oh, yes, just so you know -- My first date with the lovely man I married two years ago was a concert -- Billy Sprague, Bruce Carroll and Bob Bennett! It was memorable and wonderful and we loved you that night. We still do. Blessings!

I have been a fan of Bob's music (art) since approximately 1981. I actually got a chance to meet him in about 1990. As I said then and still feel the same, "he may not touch people by the millions, but he touches them deeply". Bob has done more for my christian walk than most other artist's put together.
As a fellow songwriter, I can not think of any writer who has influenced me more than Bob.

I saw Bob in Cullman, AL in what I now call the best concert I've ever seen (bar none: The Who, Stevie Rae Vaughan, Phil Keaggy, many others). Obviously I'm drawn to guitar players and strong song writers. The first concert experience with Bob was the Amy Grant (aka: get off the stage - Bob's qote from radio) concert. From then on I've diligently waited years between albums, and never been let down. What a pleasure to find out Bob's website and get to drop a line. At the Cullman concert Bob called songwriting a skill. I don't get it. A skill is something anyone can learn at least a little bit. I could start today and never write "Man of the tombs", and why bother? I now know Bob is still writing and as long as I'm patient I'll get another dose soon enough. Thanks for "the best concert I've ever seen" and for utilizing your God given "skill". I live in Dothan, AL now and there are coffee houses, churches and stereos needing your music - "Come and see". I'm glad to have stumbled onto this web site! I grew up in Southern Cal. along with Bob, spending my early years in and around Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa. Bob, your music has always blessed and encouraged me. You have remained in my prayers for many, many years - and I rejoice that the Lord has moved you out of "Bright Avenue".
Have been a fan for a long time. Seems the Lord often uses you to speak to me right where I am at the time. Some of your most powerful selections have been Hope like a Stranger, I know my Redeemer lives, Man of the Tombs.

I first heard of Bob Bennett while locked up in a Christian counseling center in Chicago in 1992. I was there because my wife had separated from me and I knew I needed help in dealing with anger and other issues from my childhood that had been detrimental to my marriage. One day in the rec room the stereo had a song playing about a man who lived in the tombs. I could relate because I felt like that man - in need of freedom. The song was Man of the Tombs and it was on a cassette by Bob Bennett. That song (and the whole cassette) God used to minister healing to me. Sadly, my marriage did not survive. In 1993 my wife of 20 years left with our daughter and she never looked back. I was a pastor at the time. Once again Bob Bennett's music minstered to me that I was not a loser but God's child. In 1996 I saw Bob perform on Columbus, Ohio (where I now live)along with Micael Card and Wes King. I purchased a copy of Songs from Bright Avenue. I wept as I listened to those songs about a man who was dealing with the awful pain of divorce. My divorce was not my choice and I could so relate to the song Bright Avenue. How I longed (and still do) to be with my family. Today I have his latest work Small Graces and I am not dissapointed. Bob Bennett is a wonderfully gifted muscian and lyricist who I know has seen pain and yet holds onto the belief that there is to be joy in the journey. I pray God will richly bless you Bob. Let us serve Jesus Christ without reservation for He is the meaning and purpose to life.
I am glad to see that Bob has a page. My wife and I have always enjoyed and appreciated his music and his heart. This is my first time here but hopefully I'll be a frequent visitor.
Thrilled to find a new album out after so long.
Man of the Tombs is my alltime favorite tune. Not only did Bob capture the truth and humanity of God's word, he showed a great compassion for the suffering child of God - shunned by people and consumed with self-loathing. But most of all the song reminds of God's redemptive power working in "impossible" situations. Thank Bob and praise God that He was able to use Bob so powerfully.

I have enjoyed listening to Bob Bennett music for many years but have lost track of him until I was talking to a friend who was on a cell phone in her car playing Bob Bennett. I instantly recognized Bob's song and it warmed my heart. I had my friend put the cell phone to the speaker so I could hear more. After I hung up with her I dialed up to the internet to see if I could find a place where I could order Bob Bennett CD's. I wasn't successful. Could you please tell me how or where I could get Bob Bennett CD's. Either by mail or visiting a store. Thanks.

A close friend of mine who happens to be a wonderful musician,(His current gig is a 5night a week stint at The Rainbow Room in N.Y.C.) once told me that most times the greatest musicians never achieve the notoriety they deserve. A standing joke that my wife and I share is "Yeah and they're more popular than Bob Bennet" Not to say that notoriety or popularity should be something to be desired (Scripture certainly instructs us to the contrary) But I am bothered by the fact that the man who I consider to be one of the finest songwriters, players and singers ever to grace any genre of music, (sorry for the run-on sentence); is not filling venues nation and worldwide in the interest of the proclamation of the Gospel.
WGTS is playing "Jesus Christ the Apple Tree" and just today I finally heard that it was sung by Bob Bennett. So I did a search on the internet, came up with this web page, and now I know that it is on the "Small Graces" album. The recording is beautiful. I plan to buy the cassette.

Bob, "Jesus in our Time" is really a great expression of a call to worship. I thoroughly enjoy it and have made a suggestion to our song leader at church that we use it as a morning invitation to worship at our church in Sisters, Oregon. If you ever get up this way we would love to have you visit and sing for us at Cascade Community Church.
I'm thrilled to find this web page. I have been a fan of Bob's music since "First Things First" came out. I had the opportunity to have Bob come to Cottonwod Arizona to do a concert in 1980 and was able to spend some time with him then. I have seen Bob in concert many times in Southern Calfornia. I consider Bob the finest Christian songwriter I have ever heard. It is one of the mysteries of the Kingdom that his music hasn't sold all that well. I am excited to hear about a new album and will buy it immediately when I see it. If you see this Bob, blessings to you. You have truly blessed me.
I first became aware of Bob Bennet when he was a co-host with Dan on KBRT in the morning. It really started my day off with a smile. I was really sad when they left. Somehow I got the tape Lord of the Past and fell in love with his music. God has used those songs many times through the years to minister to me in ways that have changed my life and I am grateful both to Him and to Bob for being a vessel through which Jesus was able to tell me of His love for me. Man of the Tombs broke my heart (in the good way) and Lord of the Past brought healing when I thought there was no hope. Thank you Bob for shareing your life with us, and I thank God for you. I " just missed" the concert at Hope Chapel Gateway, (my husband and I used to live right by there) I just found out about it. Oh well, I keep an I on the concert schedule and catch you next time. We're in Orange Co. now so I'm sure it wont take too long. Meanwhile I'll go buy your new album. And yes, a vocal and guitar on ly album would be something I'd be interested in. So moved me did "Man Of The Tombs", that I got this crazy idea to try and get permission to post the lyrics on the Web so that searches to key words of the song would bring people to this powerful message of healing and hope. But first did a quick search and landed here! What do you think of the idea? Would you consider doing it? (I know nothing of making web pages)

Hi: Do you know anywhere I can find the recordings of: Matters of the Heart, Non Fiction and Lord of the Past. If possible, I'd also like to find a CD version of First Things First as I only have the alblum(vinyl) and it is almost worn out. Will pay large sums in unmarked bills. I'm not a collector, just someone who loves the work Bob has done on the three recordings I have, but has never had the opportunity to even hear any of the songs on the CD's I mentioned. I read that guitar tab for selected songs may be available soon. Any updates on tab availability?
