My daughter has liked trains since she was two years old, so I
got into trains. Our first train was one of those battery powered trains that
people buy to go around their Christmas tree. Then I began to dabble in
modeling trains, and I put together a set of trains for Hannah's fifth birthday
with a custom decorated steam engine and caboose. I don't believe we have
missed any years that we haven't rode on a train somewhere. We have rode
excursion trains in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina (Tweetise
Railroad pictured).
One of my daughter's favorite place to go in Huntsville, is the old Southern Depot. When she was little she loved to ring the bell on the old steam engine and play in the Norfolk Western caboose. Even now she loves to go and look around.
