In 1961, J.H. "Bud" Holtkamp started Waste Paper Stock to recycle various types of paper. Later, the company changed it's name to South Central Recycling and Mr. Bud's son Dave took over operation of the company. Currently, South Central Recycling accepts cardboard, newspaper, special file stock, computer paper, white ledger, and magazines.

South Central Recycling offers commercial pickup of cardboard and paper. We also have a list of independent haulers who will be happy to pick-up your cardboard. Individuals and companies are welcome to bring their paper recyclables to our location at 2015 Vermont Dr.
Currently, for each 100 pounds of paper, we are paying:
Cardboard (OCC-Old Corrugated Container) $.50
Newspaper (The Stuff That Kid Throws at Your House Everyday) $.75
Special File Stock (What You Pull Out of Your File Cabinet) $1.00
Impact Computer Printout (The Old-Fashioned Tractor Feed Paper With Blue and Green Lines) $2.50
Sorted White Ledger (The Plain White Paper You Use in Your Copier and Laser Printer) $2.50
Magazines (The Shiny Things With All the Words) $.75

From the North side of Huntsville, go south on Memorial Parkway. Exit at Martin Road and immediately turn right onto Vermont Drive. We are over the hill on the left.

From the South side of Huntsville, go north on Memorial Parkway and exit at Golf Road. Double back under Memorial Parkway and go back south on the frontage road. Turn at the second road onto Vermont Drive. We are over the hill on the left.
