OUR UNIQUE RETIREMENT SYSTEM

Our TVA Retirement System was originally set up as a model, as was TVA itself.

Our retirement system is a separate entity and the rules that govern corporate and government retirement systems do not apply to ours, thanks goodness.

The best part of this uniqueness is the separate entity part. This is the part that must be guarded and maintained with a great deal of vigilance.

The separate entity part is the part that does NOT allow the Retirement System to be broken up into pieces with the excess returning to the corporations, as happens in the other systems.

Our system belongs to the retirement system members and not to any government organization, TVA, other corporation, nor any other entity or person. Therein lies one of our strengths.
