Visiting Denver

Q: Where should I stay?

A: We're having the reception at Embassy Suites Denver Southeast (7525 E Hampden Ave) (1-800-EMBASSY). It's a nice place to stay as well.  It takes about 15-20 minutes to get from there to the church.   Rates are Tue-Thu $99/night for Tuesday through Thursday beforehand, $69/night for Friday and Saturday, and $99 a night the following Sunday.  Be sure to mention the Larson/Scarborough wedding when you book your room. Q: Where is the church?

A: From the hotel, turn right (W) on Hampden Ave. and go to University Ave.  Turn left (S) on University Ave. and follow it until the church shows up on the left amid a series of turns. The church is at 6325 S University Blvd.  (Get a map) (Get directions)

Gifts

Q: Where are you registered?

A: We've given our "wish list" to J.C. Penny and Dillards (formerly Castner Knott), available at (1-800-JCP-GIFT and 1-800-626-6001, respectively).  We are registered under the names Elizabeth Larson and James (Jim) Scarborough.  We have provided duplicate information to Mason's Jewelers (Map) in Huntsville (256-883-2150) for your convenience.

Q: I need some ideas on gifts.  Crystal, china, silver, what?

A: We've racked our brains on the subject ourselves, and all of the information is available at J.C. Penny, Dillards, and Mason's for your convenience.  Just for a heads-up, we've registered for Lenox Royal Kelly china, Lenox Kelly stemware, and Lenox Kelly Gold flatware.  We've also registered for a number of less expensive items at Penny's and Dillards, too numerous to recall here.  Please let the store clerk know you're shopping for our wedding gift so that they can check it off the list when you buy something to help reduce duplicates.

Names

Q: What is Elizabeth Larson's last name?

A: Larson.

Q: What is Jim Scarborough's last name?

A: Scarborough.

Q: How many people named Jim are mixed up in all of this?

A: More than we can count. For starters, there's Jim Scarborough, the groom, Jim Larson, the bride's father, and James M. Scarborough, the groom's father. The preacher might have been the church's regular, Jim Lewallen, but he will be on vacation. Of course, we've invited plenty of other Jims to attend the wedding...

Q: What will Elizabeth's new name be?

A: Elizabeth Ann Kimberly Scarborough.

Q: What's with the "Kimberly"?

A: That's Elizabeth's given first name.  She prefers Elizabeth in common company and her family calls her Kim.
