Us Southerners don't know anything about rocks and mountains - much
less amphatheater-shaped rocks. Shown to the left is one side of
the amphitheater - just like the rock on the other side, which had some
people
climbing in it while we were there. Views from Red Rocks were
spectacular - and there's plenty more to the place than an amphitheater.
I was particularly imporessed by the world-class outhouses - with concrete
flooring and separate facilities for men and women.
There are a number of hiking trails well worth exploring - plenty to do for next time :-) Haze covered downtown Denver this particular afternoon, and the view was still spectacular. Squint, and you can see the white peaks of Denver International Airport off in the distance above the right side of downtown. |
