Madison County, Alabama

This company rendezvoused at Huntsville, Alabama on 27 December 1861, was mustered and inspected by Thomas J. Foster by direction of Governor Shorter. They left Huntsville, Alabama on the 30th by railroad via Stevenson, Alabama and arrived at Nashville, Tennessee on 31 December 1861. They were mustered and duly sworn into service of the Confederate States of America on 15 January 1862 for 12 months, from 27 December to 27 December 1862.

Captain John R. Gardner signed for supplies for Co. K, consisting of 81 enlisted men, in Nashville, TN on Jan. 21, 1862.
