Well, as for how to get one, take the first step by sending me an email. The next thing to consider is what you would like for your guitar to be (a certain brand, vintage box, new box, etc...), and to think about a budget for what you feel comfortable with.

For instance, you could suggest your ideas of what you would like to see in one, I could draw up a sketch on the computer, quote a price, and we take it from there. I want to build the guitar that you will be happy with, and make the one that makes you freak out. Or, if you want to spend a certain dollar amount, I can build to that dollar figure, again coming up with a suggested design. I've worked it both ways and I find it good to give people both options.

The basic 4-string acoustic cigar box guitars typically start around $250, with a few exceptions. Keep in mind that this are fully playable and built for serious playing. These are not just toys.

The electric hybrids are becoming very popular. A 6-string electric hybrid cigar box guitar typically starts around $350. Exotic woods, hardware, or boxes can drive the price up. Keep in mind, since they are all one of a kind, it can take a month to collect all the stuff and then create the guitar. Cold weather delays the finishing time because it takes a little longer for the paint to cure.
