In order to compile and execute all of the programs generated in the exercises, it is important that you install and configure a working Java and C/C++ compiler, linker , Java enabled web browser, Java applet viewer and a PERL5 interpreter.
The tutorials provided here have been tested with the following compilers and interpreters. With this release we provide ready-to-use keyfiles that are 'pre-wired' to work with the following default compiler installations:
·MSVC++ 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 on C:\MSDEV\ - defined in vc4.key
·Visual Studio 6.0 for VC++ on C:\Program Files \ - defined in vc6.key
·Java Development Kit JDK1.1 on C:\JDK1.1\ - defined in java.key
·A PERL5 interpreter on C:\PERL5\ - defined in perl.key
These tutorials should work with any valid C, Java, or PERL5 compiler or interpreter provided that you have it integrated with VFC via a keyfile binding.
If you need a different configuration, you will need to edit an existing keyfile, or create a new one to support your configuration before all parts of the tutorials execute flawlessly.
