Troop 361

Troop 361 is sponsored by Holy Spirit Parish.  Meetings every Monday all year round in the Holy Spirit School cafeteria  7 - 8:30 pm except on the Monday  following a troop hike or other major activity. See schedule or call your patrol leader.

Major annual outing is the Appalatian trail hike which is during Alabama Education Association spring break week. Many of the hikes are in preparation for this adventure.

The major activity in 1997 was the Philmont trip to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. This is a semi-annual trip and is only for the older boys.

Scout camp is planned every summer.

All boys from any school or location is invited to join Troop 361. We have members from a number of religious backgrounds and allow and enable them to participate in the religious part of scouting in their own religion. Those boys who are Catholic are encouraged to work to receive the Catholic awards from the Holy Spirit Parish.

A Venture Patrol is offered for the older boys who are interested in serious hiking, climbing, spelunking, fishing or other outdoor activity.
