Music
at Holy Spirit Catholic Church |
Music is an important part of the spiritual life
at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Music is incorporated into the all weekend liturgies,
liturgies for Holy Days and major feast days as well as other events throughout the
liturgical year. Music is provided by:

St. Cecilia Children's Choir is for children in grades 2 through 5. The St. Cecilia choir rehearses weekly on Thursdays from 3:10 until 4:00 and sings in church approximately every other month.
Children's Handchime Choir is for children in grades 2 through 5.
Youth Choir is open to youth in grades 6 through 12. This choir sings once a month at the 7:00 PM liturgy on Sunday. An orchestra comprised of youth from the church accompanies the choir on Christmas Eve.
Contemporary Choir is an adult choir which rehearses on Thursdays beginning at 7:00 PM. This choir sings at the 5:00 PM liturgy on Saturday. The Contemporary Choir is a mixed ensemble with guitar and piano accompaniment which performs contemporary music.
Chancel Choir is an adult choir which rehearses on Wednesdays beginning at 7:00 PM. This choir sings at the 9:00 AM liturgy on Sunday. The Chancel Choir is a mixed ensemble with organ, oboe, and piano accompaniment which performs a mixture of traditional and contemporary music.
A Cantor/Song leader leads the music at Mass. The Cantor is a regular member of any one of the choirs. A Cantor is scheduled to lead the music at every Mass. Their presence is especially important at Mass when there is no choir.
