The following is a compilation of material I have found on the STEWART family in Monongalia Co., West Virginia.

The branch I have started with began with several STEWART brothers moving from Ireland to Lancaster Co., PA and then to Monongalia Co. in the 1700's. Many of these STEWARTs lived around Stewarttown. Many of the sources I found conflicted each other about how many brothers there were, there names, and when they came over. One even describes an uncle coming over too. Where the sources conflicted I tried to take the most common information and sometimes combined information for lack of a better source. This work is still in progress. I know there will be errors in what I have already found. If you can correct or add some info about this family please let me know. I will gladly add/change and share data.

This database contains over 1180 people and over 800 families. It begins with William STEWART in County Cork, Ireland in 1720 and goes past 1900.

I am still trying to link my family to this larger STEWART family but I haven't been able to do so yet, but I am close.
