General Stuff About Me And The Project

I have had an interest in aviation most of my life. I am an instrument rated private pilot and have owned several airplanes. However, I was not one of the kids that built model airplanes growing up. In fact, this Fly Baby project is only the second plane I have ever built. The first plane I built was a plans built Grumman F3F pedal plane for my daughter. Not much difference, is there?

The Fly Baby project did not come about because of an intense desire to build and fly an airplane of my own creation. It was more of a need for a project for my small woodworking shop, which is the third bay of my garage. The enjoyment of woodworking and my love of aviation led me to the perfect project in the Fly Baby. I have no timetable for the project. I only work on the plane when I feel like working on it. Otherwise, it would not be enjoyable for me.
