CHARTER: alabama.mobile.general (moderated)

This newsgroup is intended for general discussion of topics specific to
the Mobile, Alabama, USA area.  Mobile is a city of over 556,000 located
on the Mobile Bay of the Alabama Gulf Coast.  This concentration of
topics will include but not be limited to the Greater Mobile Area and
Mobile Bay Eastern Shore communities of:

    * Bay Minette
    * Spanish Fort
    * Daphne
    * Fairhope
    * Gulf Shores

As best as it can be arranged, articles which meet any of the
following criteria are rejected:

    * crossposted articles
    * test posts (use alt.test, misc.test, or misc.test.moderated)
    * binary files and other articles not in plain text
    * articles that contain only text quoted from previous posts
    * articles that substantively duplicate known forms of spam
    * off-topic commercial advertising
    * illegal, obscene, or pornographic posts
    * articles with empty bodies

Job postings and advertising that are not excluded according to the
above criteria will be returned to the sender with a recommendation that
they be posted to the appropriate newsgroup.

The moderator will cancel any article found in the group which violates
the charter of alabama.mobile.general or which has forged approval.
