Opportunities for Youth
If you are in grades 6-12, you need to be a part of our awesome youth group. As you can see in the following list, there's a lot going on. The best part of all of it is the people. Some of them are wild and crazy, some are quiet and calm. No matter who you are, there's a place for you. Come find your place at First United Methodist Church!

Morning Youth Fellowship - AMYF meets upstairs in the Wesley Center at 9:45 every Sunday morning. We start out with refreshments in the game room, then go to classes for each grade with adult leaders. We talk about different topics in our lives and how they relate to the Bible. Come see what we're up to!

United Methodist Youth Fellowship - UMYF is a casual Sunday evening fellowship group. It starts at 6:00 PM every Sunday night with a snack supper. We play games and have a program for about an hour and close with songs, sharing, scripture, and prayer. UMYF ends at 8:00 PM.

Youth Choirs - We have youth handbell and singing choirs. See Music Programs for more information.

Acolytes help lead worship in both services every Sunday. They light the candles, carry the flags, and help serve Communion.

Many of our youth help in the nursery during the 8:40 or 11:00 worship hours.

Wednesday nights , we have at least one class for youth as a part of our Midweek Ministries Program. Check quarterly to see what is being offered.

Special Activities - We do special events at different times during the year, like a Fall Retreat, a summer Mission Trip (home construction for the poor of Appalachia), a Winter Ski Trip, and a Mystery Trip. We also host a Halloween Carnival for all church members and guests. And we do various local service projects throughout the year.
