THE POETRY OF
JOHN FRARY
Haiku (Traditional)
in the waterfall
evil thoughts washed away
ready to meet God
God is shining light
on the storm tossed ocean,
showing me the way.

Fluttering, floating--
rising upwards to heaven
the lowly piss- ant

The storm is over
stars now race across the sky
moonlit clouds are still

Nefertiti Winks
Queen Nefertiti
Your flirtations beguile me--
solitary eye
Ode to Steven
You left me forlorn--
unafraid to express love,
even to a man.
raindrops on my cheek
mother’s kisses still linger
after all these years
Squirrels
amorous limb rats
playing "catch me if you can"
chasing through the trees
Seaside Holiday at Stinson
romping on the beach
sea gulls scatter and take flight
in-coming frisbee
Blackbirds
a murder of crows
above the walnut orchard
staging an air show
